This website is for general guidance only and represents our understanding of law and Inland Revenue practice at the time of writing. We cannot assume legal liability for any errors or omissions it might contain. Levels and bases of, and relief's from, taxation are those currently applying but are subject to change and their value depends on the individual circumstances of the investor. The value of land and buildings is generally a matter of a valuer's opinion rather than fact. The value of investments can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount you invested. The past is not necessarily a guide to future performance and past performance may not necessarily be repeated. If you withdraw from an investment in the early years, you may not get the full amount you invested. Changes in the rates of exchange may have an adverse effect on the value or price of an investment in sterling terms if it is denominated in a foreign currency. YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE Loans are subject to status and written details are available on request. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) does not necessarily regulate long term care, some term assurances and some income protection plans. The FSA does not regulate some forms of investments and insurance contracts, loans, mortgage lending and advice, some forms of mortgage, taxation advice, inheritance tax planning, employee share schemes and trust advice. Charges Not all firms charge for advice in the same way. Some or all of the following payment terms may be available. We will discuss your payment options with you and answer any questions you have. We will not charge you anything until you have specifically agreed how we are to be paid and the amount payable. Paying by fee. Whether you buy a product or not, you will pay us a fee for our advice and services. Paying by commission (or product charges). If you buy a financial product, we will normally receive commission on the sale from the product provider. Although you pay nothing up front, that does not mean our service is free. You still pay us indirectly through product charges. Product charges pay for the product provider's own costs and any commission. These charges reduce the amount left for investment. If you buy direct, the product charges could be the same as when buying through an adviser, or they could be higher or lower. We will tell you how much the commission will be before you complete an investment, but you may ask for this information earlier. Paying by a combination of commission and fee. We can also charge a fee on top of any commission we might receive. A detailed list of our charges is available upon request.
